Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Sunlit Studio collects through sunlitstudio.design, how we use it, and the choices you have. Sunlit Studio is an independent design licensing studio based in Oceanport, New Jersey.

Information you give us

We collect the information you choose to enter into a form on this site. What we collect depends on the form:

• Collection Previews (such as Moss & Mineral and Ivory & Ash): your first and last name, email address, city, country and, if you choose, your state, province or region. You may also tick an optional box to receive marketing email.
• Build Concierge: your name and email address, and the details you give about your project, such as phone number, location, project stage, style, size, budget, land, team, timeline and priorities, and any call-back preferences.
• Estimator: if you request an itemized estimate, your name and email address, together with the home size, finish level and estimate range you selected, and the home you were viewing if you arrived from one.
• Builder and trade forms (Builder Opportunity Assessment, Builder Match, Apply to Build and BuildReady requests): your name, email address and business details, such as company, market, phone number, project details and any message you write. The Builder Opportunity Assessment includes a separate, optional box to receive marketing email.
• E-Design: your name, email address, phone number, project details, room description, preferences, selections and any photos you upload.
• Email sign-ups on our Journal, Shop and Interiors pages: your email address.

Design Preview requests are made by email. The Design Preview button opens your own email program with a pre-filled message; we receive whatever you choose to send.

Information collected with your form

Some forms also record context so you do not have to type it, such as the page and button you used, the home, collection, Series or architectural family you were viewing (and the home's listed square footage where one exists), and the website or campaign that referred you (for example, campaign tags in the link you followed). Submissions are also recorded with the date and time.

Information collected automatically

• Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages viewed and interactions such as opening a collection, choosing a Series or requesting an estimate. We do not send your name, email address or location details from our forms to Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies, and Google may use the information it collects as described in Google's own privacy policy.
• Pinterest. We use the Pinterest tag to measure visits and enquiries from Pinterest. It records page visits and certain enquiry events. We do not send your name, email address or location to Pinterest, and Collection Preview submissions are not reported to Pinterest as leads. The Pinterest tag uses cookies.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics. Our host's analytics service measures page loads and site performance. It does not use cookies.
• Hosting and technical logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested in order to deliver and protect the site.

Cookies and browser storage

Google Analytics and Pinterest set their own cookies. Our own site code does not set cookies, but it does use your browser's local storage to:

• remember which Collection Previews you have opened, for 30 days, so you are not asked for your details again;
• store a random visitor code for 30 days that lets you open another Collection Preview without re-entering your details. The code is not your email address; our systems use it to look up the details you already gave us.

On our Build Concierge pages it also uses your browser's session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, to remember how you arrived (the page you landed on, the referring site and any campaign tags) so this can be included with your enquiry, and to note that you have started the form so that we count it only once per visit.

You can clear this information at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

How we use information

• To respond to your enquiry and follow up about the home, collection or service you asked about.
• To give you access to the Collection Preview you requested.
• To prepare estimates, previews, proposals and other services you ask for.
• To notify our team of new enquiries. Most form submissions are emailed to our studio inbox. Build Concierge questionnaire enquiries also send a short text message to our team, and E-Design enquiries send a text message instead of an email.
• To understand which homes, collections and pages interest visitors, and to measure our advertising.
• To operate, secure and improve the site.

Emails we send

• Build Concierge. When you submit a Build Concierge enquiry, we add you to our Build Concierge lead list and send you a follow-up email with your roadmap.
• Collection Previews. Submitting your details opens the preview. We do not add you to a general marketing list unless you tick the optional box. We may still contact you about the collection you asked to see.
• Builder Opportunity Assessment. We add you to our marketing list only if you tick the optional box.
• Our marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. You can also email us to stop receiving them.

Service providers

We use the following providers to run the site and handle enquiries. They receive the information needed to provide their services:

• Klaviyo: stores contact details, enquiry details and interest information, and sends our emails.
• Formspree: receives most form submissions and emails them to our studio inbox.
• Cloudflare: hosts the site and runs the services that receive some forms; stores Collection Preview and E-Design enquiry records and E-Design photos.
• Twilio: sends the text-message notifications to our team.
• Google (Google Analytics) and Pinterest: site analytics and advertising measurement, as described above.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

Links to other sites

Our site links to other websites, including retailers through affiliate links (through Mavely), a business directory badge from LocateFaith, and our separate builder portal. Those websites and services operate under their own privacy policies and practices. We encourage you to review their privacy information when you visit them.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry information for as long as we need it to respond to you and to manage our relationship with you. The browser storage and visitor code used for Collection Previews expire after 30 days. Information processed by our service providers may be retained according to their applicable settings, policies and our account configurations.

Your choices

• You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any of them.
• You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser, or block them using your browser settings.
• You can contact us to ask what information we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it. We will review and respond to your request.

Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information. You may contact us at [email protected] to make a privacy request. We will review and respond to requests as required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The effective date at the top shows when it was last updated.
